I’ve been using duplicate file finders to clean up my storage, but I’m wondering—can duplicate finders detect corrupted copies of files? For example, if I have two files that are almost identical but one is slightly corrupted or has missing data, will a duplicate finder still catch that? Or do they only detect exact matches based on file size, name, or checksum? I’m curious if there are any tools out there that can go deeper, maybe comparing actual content or structure. Has anyone here dealt with this before?
